Eli Neugeboren

Eli Neugeboren is an Assistant Professor at New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in digital imaging technology in the Advertising Design and Graphic Arts Department. Professor Neugeboren holds a Masters of Fine Arts degree from University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Ohio University. He lives and works in Brooklyn.

Professor Neugeboren is an illustrator, designer, retoucher, and artist who has worked in the creative and design world since 1997. His latest work involves adapting several of Shakespeare’s works into graphic novels for Pearson. For nearly 4 years, he was the first in-house digital imaging specialist at Spin magazine. There he developed the magazine’s retouching workflow and was responsible for the retouching, coloring correction and overall quality of every image in the publication. Professor Neugeboren has also worked as a graphic designer in the American Museum of Natural History’s exhibition department and was a Teaching Artist for the Museum of Modern Art and Lincoln Center Institute. He continues his work in all of these specialties as a freelancer.

His artwork has been included in exhibitions in New York City, Boston, Ohio, California, and Florida as well as others. His illustrations and articles have been published in Print Magazine, How Magazine, The Classical, Salon, and more. In 2003 Professor Neugeboren traveled to the Venice Biennale, where he was a resident artist in Marko Peljhan’s Makrolab.
