1977 BFA College of Creative Studies
Born in Los Angeles, California, studied Art at College of Creative Studies, University of California, Santa Barbara and then moved to New York City and attended graduate school at Hunter College, receiving a MFA. She began showing in New York City, Los Angeles and Italy. Recipient of a Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant, New York Foundation for the Arts grant in Printmaking/ Drawing/ Book Arts and nominated several times for a Joan Mitchell Award. Theresa has attended: Millay Colony for the arts, Edward Albee Foundation, Fountainhead Residency and Venice Printmaking Studio, Venice Italy. Theresa has had numerous one-person shows, participated in many group shows and museum projects, such as the Contemporary Museum of Art in Baltimore, “New View”, Window installation. She has lectured about her work as well as taught at various Colleges and venues. Also, she has curated and organized many group shows, most recently (co-curated with Michelle Weinberg), “Little Languages/ Coded Pictures”. She divides her time between New York City and Country home in Beach Lake, PA.
