I am pleased to announce that The New Yorker has commissioned me to create a series of sculptures made from coins. The series uses techniques similar to those I used in my penny cubes. Photos of these latest sculptures are scattered throughout this week’s money-themed issue of the magazine. Look for the October 14th Edition with a picture of a hearth on the cover. You can also see these images on my website robertwechsler.com.
I am also excited to announce that I am the proud recipient of a 2013 Investing in Artists Grant from the Center for Cultural Innovation. This grant will support my efforts to create images of patinated coins at enormous magnifications, pushing the limits of digital optical microscopy.
Thanks for all your support.
